The Express have reported that Tottenham Hotspur are still interested in signing Vedat Muriqi from Fenerbahce in the summer transfer window.
However, the report adds that Newcastle and Burnely, along with Spurs, have been sending scouts to watch the centre-forward in recent weeks in Turkey.
It is also claimed that Leicester City are keeping a close eye on the striker too, with Fenerbahce wanting a fee in the region of £30m for their man.
Tottenham have struggled without a striker replacement for Harry Kane during his injury over the past two months and Muriqi may just fit that mould.
He is a strong and tall centre-forward with the ability to hold the ball up and win aerial battles, much like Kane.
So far this season, Muriqi has netted 14 goals and six assists in 25 games for Fenerbahce (TransferMarkt).
He has also been linked with Spurs in the past, as far back as the 2019 summer transfer window, with Sabah reporting that Tottenham scouted the big man.
Spurs Web Opinion:
He sounds like the perfect option. Big, strong, good in the air, holds it up, provides a plan B option, has plenty of aggression, scores goals, and can take the pressure off Kane.
