Report: Spurs and West Ham are both looking at EFL talent this summer

Football League World have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are keeping a close eye on Peterborough United defender Ronnie Edwards ahead of the summer transfer window.

Ronnie Edwards, who established himself as a regular in the Peterborough team last season, has been one of the stand-out central defenders across League One this season.

The report reveals that the youngster could be one of several player who may leave Weston Homes Stadium this summer if the Posh fail to win promotion to the Championship.

The publication states that Spurs have been watching Edwards for ‘a while’ and that the Lilywhites, as well as their London rivals, West Ham United, are continuing to keep a close eye on the 20-year-old ahead of the transfer window, along with several other top-flight clubs.

The Peterborough starlet will get a chance to showcase his talents over the next few weeks as he is part of the England U20s squad for the World Cup in Argentina.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would expect Tottenham to look towards the EFL for young talents this summer as that is a strategy that has served well in the past but one we had abandoned to a large degree over recent years.

However, one would expect plenty of competition for Edwards’ signature this summer.
