Report: Spurs and West Ham both interested in Portuguese starlet

TuttoMercatoWeb report that Tottenham Hotspur have expressed an interest in Braga starlet Vitor Oliveira.

Oliveira, who is otherwise known as Vitinha, has hit the limelight after breaking into Braga’s first-team this season.

The young striker has made just four appearances in the Primeira Liga this season, scoring one goal, but is his performances in Taca de Portugal that have caught the eye.

The 21-year-old has netted ten goals in just two appearances in the cup competition, including 4 goals in Braga’s 6-0 win over Santa Carla on Saturday.

TMW now reveal that the youngster’s performances have brought him to the attention of European clubs, including teams from the Premier League.

The report reveals that while Spurs are paying ‘attention’ to Oliveira, West Ham United ‘stands out’ among the most interested teams.

It is said that it could be ‘only a matter of time’ before the Portugal Under-21 international is prised away from the Braga Municipal Stadium.

Spurs Web Opinion

With reports indicating that Paratici is overhauling Tottenham’s scouting system, one would expect the club to be following the best young talents in European and world football.

However, it is anybody’s guess if our interest in the likes of Vitinha is concrete, particularly given that we already have a couple of talented young strikers at the club in Dane Scarlett and Troy Parrott.
