Report: Spurs and West Ham enquire about Serie A midfielder for January

Tottenham and West Ham have enquired about Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie over a potential transfer in January, according to Calciomercato.

The 23-year-old is facing an uncertain future in Turin, with manager Massimiliano Allegri likely to conduct an overhaul to his squad in the coming months.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have been tipped to raid the Serie A following the club’s appointment of Antonio Conte, with the Italian allegedly drawing up a list of targets ahead of the January transfer window to bolster his options.

Calciomercato claim McKennie has been touted as a potential incoming for Spurs, but the club could face competition from London rivals West Ham for the USA international’s signature.

The report states that Juventus could demand anywhere between €30m-€35m (£25.1m-29.3m) to part ways with the midfielder, however, Spurs are said to be ‘not scared’ by the Old Lady’s valuation.

After an uncertain and patchy start to the campaign, McKennie has found a solid patch of league form, scoring twice in his last three appearances, while he scored for his country in the 2-0 win against Mexico on Saturday.

Spurs Web Opinion

Spurs do look like they are planning to bulk up the midfield despite it being somewhat bloated already, and McKennie seems like an option they are monitoring.

The valuation doesn’t seem too unreasonable, but he might not necessarily be the ideal profile Spurs truly need right now.
