Report: Spurs approach club over swoop for £80m attacker – and it isn’t Lo Celso

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Real Betis playmaker, Giovani Lo Celso, for the majority of the transfer window, ever since they reportedly bid £53m for the player (BBC).

Real Betis turned the offer down due to it being too far from his £88m buyout clause, but the deal has been gathering steam again of late. Some reports have claimed that Lo Celso could fly over for his medical as early as this week (Informa Betis).

However, fresh reports have now through a spanner in the works, as a new name is being linked with a big-money move to Tottenham.

Fellow Argentine attacker, Paulo Dybala, is apparently now on Pochettino and Levy’s radar, with the club reportedly making contact with Juventus over a possible move (Standard).

The report states that Spurs would have to break their transfer record for the Juve star, with Dybala valued at £80m by the Italian giants.

His current contract runs until 2022, he is on £120,000 a week, and he has scored 78 goals in 182 games for Juve (Wikipedia).
