Report: Spurs are ‘closely watching’ one of Lloyd Kelly’s Bournemouth teammates

The Sun have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are keeping close tabs on Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke with a view to signing him at the end of the season.

While Solanke had been prolific in the Championship for Bournemouth, the centre-forward had been unable to translate those performances to the top flight until this season.

The 26-year-old has taken his game to a new level since Andoni Iraola took over last summer, having found the back of the net 11 times in 17 Premier League matches so far this season (Transfermarkt).

Spurs now monitoring Dominic Solanke

The Sun have now said that Tottenham want to sign a centre-forward next summer to fill the void left by Harry Kane and are now keeping tabs on Solanke.

The report adds that the Chelsea academy graduate has been scouted by the Lilywhites this season on a few occasions and the club plan continuing to watch his closely well into the New Year.

It is alleged that some at the North London club see Solanke as an even better prospect than Brighton’s Evan Ferguson and believe that the 26-year-old has the attributes to succeed at a higher level.

While Postecoglou does not need a typical target man, Solanke is perhaps the kind of focal-point striker who can thrive in the Australian’s system as the Englishman is comfortable enough on the ball to interchange positions while also having the pace and mobility to make runs in behind.
