Recent reports indicate that Tottenham are close to sealing deals for Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele and Leeds United youngster Jack Clarke, ending their 500-plus day hiatus from signing players (Sky Sports and BBC).
A report from The Daily Mail now claims that the lilywhites are also confident of sealing a £25m deal for Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon.
It is suggested that Fulham are demanding £45m for the 19-year-old with Spurs believing they can sign him for a considerably lower amount.
Fulham have offered Sessgnon a new contract but it is claimed that the England Under 21 international will not sign the deal at Craven Cottage such is his desire to play top flight football again next season
Sessegnon is quite versatile and can play as a full back or a wide player but he didn’t have the best of seasons with Fulham in what was his first taste of Premier League football.
With Danny Rose suggesting that he might not be at the club next season (talkSPORT), the youngster could be a long term replacement for the 28-year-old.
Spurs Web Opinion
Sessegnon is undoubtedly talented and if Pochettino believes he can turn him into a top player, then the club should most definitely back him. Now would be a good time to buy the 19-year-old has his disappointing performances last season have caused his price to plummet.
