Football Insider have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have not given up on their pursuit of Conor Gallagher and are continuing to work on getting the Chelsea star through the door.
Over the last week, some outlets have played down Tottenham’s chances of landing Gallagher, with reports indicating that the midfielder is keen to remain at Stamford Bridge.
This includes an update from The Sun, who said a few days ago that Spurs are ‘unlikely’ to get their hands on the 23-year-old this window but they could revisit the deal next summer since the player is not in Chelsea’s long-term plans.

Spurs have not given up hope on signing Gallagher
Football Insider have now asserted that Ange Postecoglou’s men have not given up hope of bringing Gallagher to Hotspur Way before the February 1 deadline.
The report says that the Lilywhites are continuing to work on the ‘marquee deal’ but they still have plenty of work to do to get the deal over the line.
The publication adds that one source with knowledge of the situation has referred to the transfer as a ‘complex deal’ to complete, with the player eager to remain at his boyhood club.

Even if Tottenham are to win the race for Gallagher (which seems unlikely at the moment), the deal will likely only go through in the final few days of the window.
Perhaps Spurs will feel that Chelsea would not be able to refuse an offer of around £40m towards the end of the month, given the 23-year-old’s contract situation.
