Report: Spurs are exploring move for Real Madrid man but there is a problem

According to Defensa Central (04/04/23 as relayed by Sport Witness), Tottenham Hotspur are interested in a move for Eduardo Camavinga but Real Madrid have no intention of letting the midfielder leave.

Although Camavinga has shown plenty of promise since his switch from Rennes in 2021, he has not quite been a mainstay in the Real Madrid midfield this season, having started just over half of the club’s league matches (Transfermarkt).

Defensa Central state that several Premier League clubs, including the likes of Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool, are now exploring a move for the 20-year-old.

However, the report states that despite Camavinga being an ‘object of desire’ for Premier League clubs, Los Blancos are not considering selling him.

Florentino Perez has allegedly told intermediaries who work around the club that he would not even sell the midfielder for an offer of €200m (£175.m).

This is because the Madrid hierarchy believe that Camavinga can go on to make history at the club.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Camavinga is obviously not a realistic target, Spurs do need to make a big-money signing in central midfield this summer.

While there has been a lot of focus on our deficiencies at centre-back, we have also been left woefully exposed in the middle of the park without Benatuncur.

While I love Hojbjerg’s attitude, I do not think the Dane can be anything more than a squad player if we want to have big ambitions.
