Report: Spurs are facing competition from five PL clubs for 18-year-old forward

According to HITC, at least five other Premier League sides apart from Tottenham Hotspur are plotting moves for Besiktas’ wonderkid striker Semih Kilicsoy this summer.

Kilicsoy has created waves since breaking into the Besiktas senior side earlier this season, with the forward having found the back of the net 11 times across all competitions, including 10 strikes in 20 league appearances (Transfermarkt).

Tottenham’s interest in the 18-year-old first came to light back in February when journalist Gokmen Ozcan reported that scouts from the North London club were keeping an eye on the striker.

A couple of weeks later, Turkiye Gazetesi (via Sport Witness) named Spurs and Borussia Dortmund as the two main contenders for the player’s signature.

Competition heating up for Semih Kilicsoy

However, HITC have now said that more than half of the 20 Premier League clubs have sent their scouts to Turkey to watch Kilicsoy play this season, with many said to have come back with glowing reports of the youngster.

It is revealed that out of these Spurs, Arsenal, Manchester City, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Manchester United have all expressed an interest in the Turkey Under-21 international.

The publication adds that there are also rumours doing the rounds in Turkey that Fulham have already launched a £13m offer for the forward.

It sounds like a major tussle is already underway for Kilicsoy ahead of the summer transfer window. One would have thought that Tottenham would be able to make a persuasive case to the youngster that working under Ange Postecoglou at Hotspur Way would be valuable for his development.
