Report: Spurs are hoping for a ‘cut-price’ deal for Premier League player

Tottenham Hotspur have made Tosin Adarabioyo a transfer target for the summer, and they believe the Fulham defender can be acquired for a ‘cut-price’ fee.

Spurs were dismal all over the field last season as they limped to an eighth-placed finish in the Premier League. One area of particular concern was in defence, however.

With 63 goals conceded across the campaign, only five teams leaked more goals than Tottenham, and three of those teams were relegated from the top flight.

Needless to say, new Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou needs reinforcements. The Australian is believed to have given the club instruction to bring in a new centre-back (90 Min).

Just yesterday, Football Insider sources revealed Manchester City’s Aymeric Laporte was not interested in a move to Spurs.

However, another Premier League defender is on the shortlist for Tottenham it seems. The North London club has been linked to Fulham star Tosin Adarabioyo recently (Sky Sports).

According to Fabrizio Romano, the 25-year-old wants to leave Craven Cottage this summer.

Spurs chasing a cut-price deal for Adarabioyo

The latest from Football Insider confirms that Spurs have turned their attention to Adarabioyo and have put the Fulham man on their “shortlist of options” in the search for a new centre-back.

Due to Adarabioyo entering the final year of his current contract with Fulham, Tottenham are hopeful of sealing a “cut-price” deal for the player this summer.

While the club are exploring other options, it is now clear that Adarabioyo is “wanted” by Postecoglou.

There are certainly better options out there when it comes to finding a new centre-back, but Adarabioyo would be very affordable, and comes with a decent level of Premier League experience.

He is also a homegrown player, which could come in handy as Postecoglou puts together his new-look squad.
