Report: Spurs in advanced negotiations for potential first summer signing

RMC have reported that Tottenham are in advanced negotiations to snap up Borussia Monchengladbach star Marcus Thuram, which could potentially become the club’s first signing of the summer.

The 23-year-old comes off the back of an impressive season over in the Bundesliga, scoring eight goals and providing seven assists in 29 games. In all competitions, he managed 11 goals and 12 assists in 40 matches (TransferMarkt).

In fact, Thuram even managed to catch the eye of Didier Deschamps this summer, with the French manager calling the Borussia Monchengladbach attacker up to the Euro 2020 squad.

Thuram is a left-sided winger but can also play anywhere across the front line and stands at six feet and three inches tall, making him a threat in the air.

RMC claim that negotiations have now been accelerated between Spurs and Borussia Monchengladbach over a possible move for the attacker.

Thuram would link up with French teammates Hugo Lloris, Moussa Sissoko and Tanguy Ndombele, who missed out on the Euro 2020 squad, if he joined Spurs this summer.
