Report: Spurs are in the hunt for PSG attacking midfielder

Tottenham Hotspur have not been active in the transfer window for some time, 16 whole months to be exact.

Spurs’ last signing came in the form of Lucas Moura from PSG back in January 2018, with the sale of Mousa Dembele being the only other action since.

Could Tottenham’s next signing also be coming from the French champions? A report from Top Mercato claims that Spurs are interested in signing the German international Julian Draxler.

The report suggests that Spurs may see Draxler as a possible Eriksen replacement, with the Great Dane linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer (Express).

Top Mercato claim that Bayern Munich and Inter Milan are also interested in signing Draxler. They also add that the playmaker could be available for just £25m-£35m, as PSG are apparently looking to balance their books to adhere to financial fair play.

As an added bonus for Spurs, it could also wind up their rivals Arsenal, as the Gunners were close to signing Draxler back in 2014 (Daily Mail).

Spurs Web Opinion:

Draxler appeared regularly for PSG last season, so I see no reason why they would be looking to sell him on at a bargain price. However, let’s assume the reports are correct. If Draxler is indeed available for around £30m, Spurs would be daft not to snap him up.
