According to The Guardian reporter Ed Aarons, Tottenham Hotspur have expressed an interest in signing Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham.

Jobe, who is the brother of Real Madrid star Jude, is also a number ten by trade but he has operated in a number of different positions for Sunderland, including in a box-to-box midfield role and as a number nine.
The 18-year-old, who also came through Birmingham City’s academy like his brother, made the move to Sunderland last summer but it has emerged that the youngster is already on the radar of several Premier League sides on the back of his impressive showing in the Championship.
According to Aarons, Tottenham have been joined in the race for the teenager by Crystal Palace, Brentford and several other clubs across Europe.
However, the journalist states that the Black Cats do not want to their starlet go and will fight to retain his services this summer. He adds that it will take an offer in excess of £20m to prise the England Under-19 star from the Stadium of Light.

One gets the feeling that if Tottenham do not sign Jobe, one of the other Premier League clubs will pick him up this summer. One can understand why Spurs are keen on the youngster, given their lack of homegrown numbers and their focus on recruiting young talent.
