Report: Spurs are keeping an eye on Bayern Munich midfielder for this summer

The Daily Star have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move for Marcel Sabitzer when the transfer window opens in the summer.

Sabitzer has been excellent since joining Man Utd on loan from Bayern Munich in January but it is revealed that the Red Devils do not have the option to make the deal permanent.

United would thus need to enter into negotiations with Bayern if they wish to sign the player, who is said to be valued at £30m by the Bundesliga giants.

The Daily Star explain that while the German club were willing to sell Sabitzer for just £20m in January, their asking price has shot up thanks to the Austrian’s recent displays at Old Trafford.

The publication reveals that even if Erik Ten Hag’s side decide against making an approach for the 29-year-old, Bayern expect interest from others clubs, with Spurs being one of those who have their eyes on the player.

In addition to the Lilywhites, Aston Villa and West Ham United are also said to be monitoring Sabitzer’s situation, having been impressed by how quickly he has adapted to English football.

Spurs Web Opinion

There is no doubt that Tottenham need a creative midfielder in the summer, which is why links to the likes of James Maddison, Franck Kessie and now Sabtizer, are not surprising.

However, Spurs are unlikely to make a decision on who to pursue until they have finalised a managerial appointment.
