Report: Spurs are ‘moving under the radar’ to sign Serie A centre-back

According to a report in La Repubblica (as relayed by TuttoJuve), Tottenham have now emerged as one of the frontrunners to land Torino centre-back Alessandro Buongiorno this summer.

Tottenham’s interest in Buongiorno first came to light earlier this week when Calciomercato claimed that Spurs had ‘initiated contact’ over a deal for the central defender.

The report stated that the Lilywhites had reached out to Torino to understand the cost of the operation and revealed that AC Milan and Napoli had also shown keen interest in the 24-year-old.

Tottenham at the front of the queue for Buongiorno

Spurs’ interest in Buongiorno has now been backed up by La Repubblica, who say that the Lilywhites are one of ‘many clubs’ eyeing a summer move for the player.

In fact, they allege that Tottenham are ‘in the front row’ to sign the Italy international and have been ‘moving under the radar for a few months now’.

The publication adds that the centre-back, who is also wanted by Inter and Juve, is valued by Torino at €35m (£30m).

This sounds like another Fabio Paratici target and given the success that Spurs have had with recruits from Serie A over recent years, one would not rule out the Lilywhites pressing ahead with an offer for Buongiorno this summer.
