Report: Spurs are not happy with player’s treatment out on loan

AS have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are not happy with that Sevilla have hardly handed Alejo Veliz any opportunities to impress since his loan move.

Tottenham’s technical director Johan Lange made it clear at the end of the January window that the club had put in a lot of effort to find the right loan moves for various youngsters to get regular game time and continue their development (Club’s official channel).

While the loans have worked out well for the likes of Alfie Devine, Ashley Phillips, and others, the same cannot be said of Veliz, who has hardly had a look in at Sevilla.

Tottenham not happy with Sevilla

The Argentine striker would have gone to Andalusia with hopes of impressing Ange Postecoglou and co but he is yet to make a single start for the club, having been reduced to just 42 minutes across three substitute appearances (Transfermarkt).

The striker’s situation was addressed by Quique Sanchez Flores himself a couple of weeks ago, with the Sevilla boss indicating at the time that the on-loan Tottenham still had not found his rhythm in training after returning from injury (Mucho Deporte).

AS now say that Spurs are not happy with the scenario while Man Utd are also similarly angered that their loanee Hannibal Mejbri is not getting minutes.

The outlet says that Sanchez Flores’ treatment of the two players ‘does not sit well’ with the Premier League duo, suggesting that it might affect Sevilla’s chances of getting players from English clubs on loan in the future.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham might have sought verbal assurances from Sevilla that Veliz would get game time, which is likely why they gave the green light to the loan.

So one can understand why the club would not be too happy at the moment and they would perhaps be wishing that they loaned the 20-year-old to a Championship side instead.
