Report: Spurs are now moving faster than anyone to sign 13-goal attacker

Primo Canale have now become the latest outlet to suggest that Tottenham Hotspur are at the front of the queue to secure Genoa star Albert Gudmundsson this summer.

The speculation linking Gudmundsson with a move to Spurs has gone into hyperdrive over the last few weeks, with various outlets naming the Lilywhites as Inter Milan’s main competitors for the attacking midfielder.

In fact, it has also been suggested by some publications over the last few days that the Nerrazurri are fearful that Tottenham would blow them out of the water financially in the race for the 26-year-old’s signature (InterLive.it)

Spurs are the most active in the race for Gudmundsson

Primo Canale have now said that Tottenham are ‘moving the most’ to sign Gudmundsson, stating that the North London side have an ‘open channel’ with Genoa.

It is explained that the Premier League side have built an excellent relationship with Genoa following the Radu Dragusin and Djed Spence deals in January.

With the two clubs still having ‘open talks’ over the right-back’s future, it is suggested they could also have discussions over the valuation of the Iceland international.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham’s relationship with Genoa definitely gives them an advantage in the race for Gudmundsson. Spurs would also be able to complete a straight cash deal while Inter would likely have to propose a loan with an obligation to buy or potentially a part-exchange deal, given their financial situation.
