Report: Spurs are plotting an £18m offer for 31-year-old in the summer

Fichajes.net have now become the latest publication to back Tottenham Hotspur to make a move for Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou in the summer.

Over the past few days, multiple Spanish outlets have talked up the possibility of Tottenham making a move for Bounou.

AS first reported at the start of the week that Antonio Conte’s men have identified the Sevilla number one as a potential successor to Hugo Lloris and claimed that the North London club enquired about the Moroccan during the January transfer window.

This was followed by a report in La Razon a couple of days ago, which suggested that although Bounou’s release clause stands at €50m (£44.5m), Tottenham are confident of bringing the price down by using Bryan Gil as a makeweight in the operation.

Fichajes.net have now also reported on Spurs’ interest in the 31-year-old, claiming that the Lilywhites are planning to launch an offer of €20m (£17.8m) for the goalkeeper in the summer.

However, the publication explains that it is not just Tottenham who hold an interest in Bounou, but also fellow Premier League sides, Manchester United and West Ham United.

The report adds that the Sevilla goalkeeper rejected two offers to leave the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium during last month’s transfer window but the La Liga club expect ‘several suitors’ to try their luck in the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is not clear whether Bounou is at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist to replace Lloris but there is no chance that an offer of £18m is going to be enough to convince Sevilla to sell, particularly if the competition for the 31-year-old heats up.

If Spurs are keen on landing the experienced goalkeeper, Bryan Gil could be their trump card and potentially offer them an advantage over some other suitors.
