Report: Spurs are prepared to reignite interest in 26-year-old centre-back

Football Insider have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are ready to reignite their interest in Napoli centre-back Kim Min-Jae after failing with a bid to sign the centre-back in previous transfer windows.

Kim has been a revelation since his move to Naples last summer and has undoubtedly been one of the best central defenders across the Serie A this season.

Football Insider assert that Spurs tried to sign the South Korean during the January transfer window but saw their offers turned down by Napoli.

It is explained that the Lilywhites are expected to try again this summer and could consider activating the £43m release clause in the player’s contract, which will be active for two weeks in July.

The report adds that Manchester United are also keen on snapping up Kim, with the Red Devils thought to be plotting a double deal for the centre-back and Victor Osimhen in the summer.

In addition, it is alleged that Liverpool are also open to paying the former Fenerbahce man’s release clause in the summer.

Football Insider suggest that Champions League qualification could thus prove vital for the aforementioned three clubs in persuading Kim to join.

Spurs Web Opinion

Perhaps Spurs can use Son’s help in pursuing the centre-back to come to North London.

However, there is no doubt that the 26-year-old will want to play at the highest level and so, we need to finish in the top four to have any chance of winning the race for him in the summer.
