Report: Spurs are ready to battle Brighton for £45m-rated midfielder

According to a report in talkSPORT, Tottenham Hotspur have now entered the race to sign Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall this summer.

Dewsbury-Hall has been one of Leicester’s best players this season, having managed 11 goals and 13 assists in 38 outings in the Championship so far (Transfermarkt).

It is pointed out by talkSPORT that the Foxes have to sell some assets this summer to offset their losses, with an exit from the King Power Stadium thus being on the cards for the midfielder this summer.

Tottenham could battle Brighton for Dewsbury-Hall

It is revealed that Brighton failed with an offer to sign Desbury-Hall during the January window and still retain an interest in the player.

However, they have now been joined in the race by Tottenham, who are looking for reinforcements in the middle of the park this summer, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg expected to depart the club.

The outlet says Spurs have a good relationship with Leicester after striking deals for James Maddison and Harry Winks last summer.

The publication suggests that the Lilywhites could use that to their advantage to sign Dewsbury-Hall, who is thought to be valued by the Midlands club at £45m.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is not surprising that Tottenham are looking at the likes of Conor Gallagher, Morgan Gibbs-White and Desbury-Hall, given that the club are in need of a number eight and are short of homegrown numbers.

It is also not a coincidence that Chelsea, Nottingham Forest and Leicester have financial troubles, with Spurs perhaps hoping to take advantage and complete a bargain deal for the aforementioned players.
