Report: Spurs are ‘very likely’ to terminate player’s contract this summer

According to Le Parisien (28/06/23 as relayed by Sport Witness), Tottenham are likely to terminate Hugo Lloris’ contract and allow the Frenchman to join any club he wants to this summer.

Lloris‘ days at Tottenham now look numbered after the arrival of Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli.

The Frenchman made it clear last month that he is now looking for a new adventure away from Spurs after 11 years at the North London club (Nice-Matin).

Gazzetta dello Sport revealed a couple of days ago that the Tottenham captain was one of three goalkeepers on Inter Milan’s shortlist to replace Andre Onana if the Cameroonian leaves the club this summer.

Tottenham are expected to release Lloris for free

This information has now been backed by Le Parisien, who state that Inter want a goalkeeper of a ‘high level’, who is ‘financially attainable’, with Lloris said to tick those boxes.

The publication adds that the 36-year-old will decide his next destination based on the ‘well-being of his family’ and the ‘living environment’, instead of the financial incentive.

The report claims that it is ‘very likely’ that Tottenham ‘will release him’ of his contract, thus giving him the full power to choose his next club.

Spurs Web Opinion

Given the fantastic service that Hugo has given us, I am sure that Tottenham would be happy to cooperate with the goalkeeper on whatever move he wants to make.

I would not be surprised if he decides to return to his hometown club of Nice this summer.
