Mundo Deportivo have now claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are working with Jorge Mendes to finalise a deal to sign Ansu Fati on a season-long loan deal.

Since this morning, multiple outlets have reported that Spurs are in talks with Barca regarding a loan deal for Fati, with Fabrizio Romano claiming a couple of hours ago that the two clubs are discussing the conditions for the deal.

Tottenham now pushing to sign Ansu Fati on loan

Mundo Deportivo have now stated that Spurs are now ‘pressing’ to land Fati before Friday evening’s transfer deadline.

The publication asserts that today’s training session could be the 20-year-old’s final one with Barca as the player has instructed his agent, Jorge Mendes, to find him a new club.

Spurs are said to be in pole position to secure the versatile forward’s signature, with Mendes said to be working with the North London club to finalise a transfer.

The outlet adds that Barcelona want the Premier League side to take on Fati’s entire salary over the duration of his loan spell.

Spurs Web Opinion

I suspect that Tottenham are eyeing Fait as an alternative to Brennan Johnson rather than as an additional target. I do not see Postescoglou wanting both players, particularly given that all of our current forward options (apart from Bryan Gil) look likely to stay put.
