Report: Spurs, Arsenal and Man City have ‘sent scouts’ to watch AC Milan wonderkid

Francesco Camarda turns 16 on Sunday, and while the focus for AC Milan will be on getting the starlet to sign his first professional contract, Premier League giants like Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, and Manchester City are sending scouts to watch the young striker.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is relentlessly rebuilding and improving his first-team squad, with a view to establishing Spurs as the kind of club that can compete at the very top.

While the here and now is the main focus, the Lilywhites are certainly keeping one eye on the future, too. Signings such as Alejo Veliz, Ashley Phillips, and more recently, Lucas Bergvall, indicate that Spurs want to build a sustainable roster of talent for years to come.

Spurs interested in AC Milan’s Francesco Camarda

Now, it seems Spurs are eyeing up more young stars, with AC Milan’s teenage sensation, Francesco Camarda being monitored as he approaches his sixteenth birthday. But, Tottenham are not the only club interested in the Italian forward.

That’s according to the latest from Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness), who have been discussing the impending birthday of Camarda and what the future may hold for the 15-year-old.

While the plan, at least in AC Milan’s eye, is that Camarda will sign his first professional contract with them when he turns 16, Premier League clubs are lining up to steal him away.

It is thought that Spurs, Arsenal, and City have “not only obtained information” about Camarda, but have actively “sent scouts to see him” in action. As if that wasn’t threatening enough for Milan, the Premier League sides have the “financial ability” to usurp them.

The rule is, Camarda can sign a professional deal with anyone he wishes as of “one minute past midnight” on Sunday. Milan want him to sign a three-year deal with them.

The problem for Premier League clubs is that Camarda would not be able to officially join them until he turns 18, but City could find a way for this to work, as they could send him to other City Group clubs like Palermo or Girona.

Spurs Web Opinion

It’s fantastic that we are circling all these young players and looking to build an impressive squad for the future. The only thing is, we need to ensure we put together a good development path for anyone we sign and don’t let them go to waste like we’ve done in the past.
