Report: Spurs assessing striker ahead of a potential summer move

Spurs are expected to be in the market for a striker this summer as the club still have not found a back up for Harry Kane since Fernando Llorente left last summer.

One man who has been linked with a move to North London is Real Betis striker Loren Moron with La Razon claiming in March that Jose Mourinho is an admirer of the 26-year-old.

Moron only broke into Betis’ first team at the start of the 2017-18 season after three and a half years with the club’s reserve side but he has been in terrific form over the last two campaigns (transfermarkt).

Estadio Deportivo reported last month that the Spaniard is tempted by the prospect of joining Spurs and reuniting with Giovani Lo Celso.

The same publication have now offered an update on Tottenham’s rumoured interest in the player.

As relayed by Sport Witness, they claim that Spurs have rune the rule over the striker and could make an offer for him in the coming months.

The report reveals that Napoli are the frontrunners for the striker’s signature with the Serie A outfit willing to offer somewhere in the region of €25-30million to bring him to Italy while Betis are holding out for around €60million for Moron this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Moron is a decent player but he is not quite the target man we need nor does he have the pace to run in behind the opposition backline. He is very similar to Harry Kane as he likes to drop in between the lines and get involved in the build-up play. So I don’t think he can play together with the England captain and I don’t believe he is the right fit for us.
