Tottenham Hotspur are attempting to tie down Harry Kane to a new contract that will run until 2027, according to Italian football journalist Marco Conterio on Twitter.
The Spurs forward still has two years to run on his existing deal in north London and was heavily linked with a move away from the club last summer, with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola admitting he was keen to bring Kane to the Etihad Stadium but came up against a determined Daniel Levy who was not prepared to enter into any talks (Manchester Evening News).
Football.London reported earlier this month that Kane could be open to talks over a new contract if the club continue to show ambition and back Antonio Conte in the transfer market this summer.
Tottenham have already been busy with new additions to their squad having brought in Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster on free transfers from Inter Milan and Southampton respectively, while Brighton’s Yves Bissouma is reported to have undergone a medical earlier today ahead of an initial £25m deal (The Athletic).

Tottenham appear to be making all the right moves in the transfer market so far compared to many other Premier League clubs, which will certainly have Kane sitting up and taking notice over the change of tact compared to recent years to get their business done early.
With Liverpool having signed Darwin Nunez and Manchester City’s acquisition of Erling Haaland, any realistic exit to a fellow Premier League club for Kane look to be over for the time being at least.
