Report: Spurs back in for PSG midfielder as Barcelona hesitate

Tottenham Hotspur have had a long-running interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

Rabiot, whose current contract with the French champions comes to an end in the summer, has opted not to sign an extension with the Parisians and has publically indicated his desire to leave the club.

It was thought however that Barcelona would be able to secure the 23-year-old services after it was suggested that the club were discussing personal terms with the Frenchman.

However, Spanish publication Sport report that Tottenham are ready to swoop in as Barcelona are dithering in their pursuit to sign the player.

Tottenham are apparently willing to offer PSG £9m for the player as well as a 5-year contract for Rabiot. The report claims that German giants Bayern Munich are also keen on securing the midfielder’s services.

Tottenham, of course, have a good relationship with PSG having recently secured the services of Lucas Moura and Serge Aurier from the club. Rabiot would be a perfect replacement for Mousa Dembele who is rumoured to be close to a transfer to Chinese club Beijing Guoan.
