Report: Spurs ban player from talking to the media

Troy Parrott has been building something of a cult following among pockets of the Tottenham Hotspur fan base.

With Harry Kane and Heung-min Son both currently out of action following respective hamstring and arm surgery, Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho has been reluctant to utilise the services of the highly-rated 18-year-old.

Parrott came off the bench to play just three minutes of first-team football on Sunday in the 3-2 defeat to Wolves with Spurs having been chasing an equaliser since the 73rd minute.

Mourinho revealed after the game that the Republic of Ireland international was only named among the substitutes for the Premier League match after Erik Lamela deemed himself not to be fit enough to take his place in the squad (Independent).

The report claims that Tottenham have blocked the forward, who signed his first professional contract with the Champions League finalists last month from conducting any media interviews.

Parrott featured for the first 45 minutes of last night’s 3-2 win for the Spurs Under-21 side against their Wolves counterparts and opened the scoring in the eighth minute of the game.
