Report: Spurs battling Man United and AC Milan to sign 28-year-old striker

According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur are involved in a three-way battle with Manchester United and AC Milan to sign Bournemouth striker Josh King this summer.

Spurs have been linked with a move for Callum Wilson over recent weeks, with reports claiming that Jose Mourinho has even spoken to the England international to convince him to move to North London.

Football Insider now claim that the Lilywhites also hold an interest in Wilson’s strike partner, King, who is also expected to leave the Vitality Stadium this year.

It is revealed that the 28-year-old is one of several players the Cherries are ready to sell this summer if his valuation is met.

While the report does not mention how much Bournemouth will demand for the Norway international, it is said that Milan entering the race has complicated matters for both Spurs and Man Utd.

The Serie A side are reportedly determined to sign King to bolster their forward line and the striker is thought to be open to a move to the San Siro.

Spurs Web Opinion

King would be a decent addition to the squad and would offer Jose a lot more options due to his versatility. While the 28-year-old can be effective as a partner for Kane, he is not really capable of leading the line on his own. King is also not as effective of many of the other strikers we have been linked with, in terms of holding the ball up or playing with his back to goal. So, I would be surprised if he is Jose’s first choice as a back up to Kane.
