Report: Spurs battling several clubs including Arsenal for Brazilian starlet

Calciomercato have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are one of several European clubs who have expressed an interest in Santos forward Marcos Leonardo.

Leonardo broke into Santos’ senior side aged just 16 back in 2020 and his stock has grown steadily since.

The 19-year-old has taken his game to a new level this season, having already found the back of the net 15 times over the course of the campaign (Transfermarkt).

The forward is now seen as one of the best emerging talents from Brazil and if he maintains the same form he has been showing over recent months, it will not be long before he is in consideration for the Selecao.

Calciomercato claim that Leonardo’s performances have caught the attention of several sides in Europe, including Spurs.

The report reveals that Antonio Conte’s men face competition from fellow Premier League sides Arsenal and Manchester United, while Serie A side Napoli are also eyeing a move for the forward.

Spurs Web Opinion

The transition from the Brazilian top flight to the Premier League is an extremely steep one. However, I would not be surprised if Paratici is considering a deal like the Udogie one whereby we sign Leanardo and loan him back out so that he can continue his development.
