Report: Spurs believe they can convince Jesus to join them over Arsenal – Made contact yesterday

AS have reported that Tottenham made contact with the representatives of Gabriel Jesus yesterday regarding a possible transfer this summer.

Spurs have offered a lower amount than Arsenal for the Brazilian striker, who Man City have given the green light to transfer away in the current window.

While the Gunners have the highest bid on the table out of anyone, it is said that Jesus views the Champions League as a ‘fundamental’ objective, which Tottenham are well aware of.

As such, Spurs believe they can convince the Man City man to pick them over their North London rivals, creating a trio alongside Harry Kane and Heung-min Son.

The report finishes by stating: ‘Conte and Paratici will continue to lie in wait’.

This all comes after The Atheltic’s Charlie Eccleshare claimed Tottenham were not targetting Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus this summer, while Fabrizio Romano reported that talks with Arsenal were at ‘a very advanced stage’.

However, The Daily Mirror did previously report that Spurs were attempting to steal the forward from under the Gunners’ noses.

Spurs Web Opinion:

The report seems to indicate that Tottenham believe they can win the race for Jesus without even submitting the highest bid. All they have to do is submit the highest bid out of all the clubs with Champions League football to offer. We’ll have to wait and see if they have left it too late.
