Report: Spurs bid £25m for European striker

Tottenham Hotspur will surely be looking to strengthen their strike force for next season, especially with some likely outgoings in the summer.

Vincent Janssen has been frozen out of Pochettino’s squad and struggling with injuries all season long, and has never really made a mark in North London.

You would be surprised if the Dutch striker didn’t leave Tottenham in the summer, and Fernando Llorente could follow him if he desires a move back to Spain.

With two possible outgoings, and a lead striker in Harry Kane who has had regular injury problems, Spurs will need to invest big in a striker capable of leading the line.

Celta Vigo’s Maxi Gomez could be that man, and if reports are to be believed, Spurs have submitted an initial bid of around £25m for the star striker (Galicia Press).

Gomez’s club are said to want something closer to the player’s £43m release clause.

Gomez has scored 11 in 27 starts this season, following his 17 in 35 last campaign.

Is he the man to provide back up to Kane?
