Report: Spurs bid over £20m for 18-year-old sensation

Tottenham Hotspur will surely be looking to dip their toes into the transfer market this summer after going over 15 months without signing a single new player.

One player the club have been strongly linked to for some time now is Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon (Sun).

With Sessegnon’s contract expiring next summer, Tottenham have been tipped to move for the exciting young talent in this transfer window (Sun).

The Fulham star is said to favour a move to Tottenham as he wants to stay in London and likes the way Pochettino develops youth at the club (Express).

Manchester United were said to be willing to offer £50m for the same player last summer (Sun).

FootballInsider now claim that Tottenham have lodged a bid of over £20m for the 18-year-old in an attempt to lure him back to the Premier League.

This comes just a day after Spurs are said to have bid £10m for another Championship winger, Leeds’ Jack Clarke (Daily Mail).

Spurs Web Opinion:

If Tottenham could manage to sign both Jack Clarke and Ryan Sessegnon for just £30m, then I would say that is a stroke of genius from Poch and Levy. Two of the brightest young English wingers in the country for just £30m would represent a great long-term investment, as long as the club back it up with some more established big-money signings.
