Report: Spurs boss Mourinho could finally sign Chelsea player he wanted at Man United

Tottenham Hotspur came close to signing Willian before he joined bitter London rivals Chelsea back in 2013.

The transfer caused quite a stir in the capital all those years ago as Spurs were said to be angry at Chelsea hijacking the deal and waging a vendetta over the Lilywhites (Guardian).

Since then, Willian has trolled Tottenham regarding the last-minute change of heart, even revealing that Spurs paid for his flight to London before he had a medical with Chelsea (Metro).

The 31-year-old has played across seven seasons for Chelsea now, racking up 57 goals in 325 games for the Blues (Wikipedia).

However, it has now been revealed that Jose Mourinho wants to finally bring the Brazilian to Tottenham in the summer (Daily Star).

The Special One apparently wanted Willian during his final year at Man United after being impressed with the player as the Chelsea manager.

Willian’s Chelsea contract is up at the end of the season and talks of a new one have reportedly stalled, with Mourinho perhaps finally getting the chance to coach him again.
