Report: Spurs can complete goalkeeper signing for just £17 million

Atalanta goalkeeper, Pierluigi Gollini, who is said to be on Tottenham’s radar this summer, is reportedly available for just €20 million this summer, according to reports from Italy.

Gollini’s performances for Atalanta this season have shot him to prominence as he has been a crucial part of the Serie A side’s impressive campaign.

Spurs have been linked with several goalkeepers ahead of this summer, including the likes of Andre Onana (L’Equipe) and Nick Pope (Football.London).

A report in Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness) earlier this month suggested that the Lilywhites are hesitant to hand Hugo Lloris a new contract, with his current deal running out in the summer of 2022.

The report claimed that Tottenham saw the Atalanta shot-stopper as an ideal option as they didn’t want to spend too big on a goalkeeping recruit this summer.

The same publication (as relayed by Sport Witness) has now once again mentioned Spurs as one of the front runners for Gollini’s signature, along with AC Milan.

The report asserts that Atalanta will let the 25-year-old leave this summer for around €20 million.

Spurs Web Opinion

While it is understandable that Tottenham wouldn’t want to hand Hugo Lloris a long-term contract as he will be 35 when his current deal runs out, I can’t see Hugo making an unreasonable demand in terms of wages or length of the extension. So, I don’t see that as a major problem we need to start addressing this summer. With Michel Vorm set to leave, I expect us to sign a keeper to serve as a third choice this summer either on a free transfer or a cut-price deal.
