Report: Spurs challenging Arsenal in pursuit of winger who wants PL move

Tottenham and Arsenal are both interested in signing Wolfsburg winger Omar Marmoush, who wants to move to the Premier League, according to Bild.

Marmoush is currently on loan at Stuttgart and has impressed despite Die Schwaben’s struggles down towards the foot of the Bundesliga table.

The 23-year-old’s contract with Wolfsburg is due to expire next year, although manager Jorg Schmadtke revealed last month that he expects the Egyptian to return to the club at the end of the season (Wolfsburger Allgemeine).

However, Marmoush may not head back to his parent club this summer, with a potential move to England now being touted by Bild.

The German publication report that North London sides Spurs and Arsenal are rivalling each other to sign the versatile forward, who has also made his desire to play in the Premier League known.

He said: “My dream is the Premier League. I don’t have a favourite club, but I watch Arsenal and Liverpool a lot.”

Marmoush, despite missing Stuttgart’s 2-0 defeat to Hertha Berlin on Sunday through injury, has recorded three goals and four assists for the relegation-threatened side (Transfermarkt).

Even though Stuttgart have struggled throughout this season, Marmoush has managed to establish himself as one of their better players.

The fact they have trusted to deploy him across the front line including at centre-forward shows how versatile he is, which is a very positive facet to have to his game.
