Report: Spurs chances of signing Filip Kostic may be over – Close to joining another team

According to Sky Germany (31/05/22 – as relayed by TuttoSport), Eintracht Frankfurt wing-back Filip Kostic, who was rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, is now close to completing a move to Juventus.

Tottenham are reportedly close to snapping up Ivan Perisic on a free transfer, with the Croat set to pen a two-year deal for the North London club after completing his medical on Monday (Sky Sports).

Some sources had indicated that Kostic was another name on Antonio Conte’s wishlist for the left wing-back role (Fichajes.net and Football.London).

In fact, The Evening Standard suggested on Monday that Tottenham’s capture of Perisic may not rule out the club’s pursuit of Kostic, with the Croat also being able to operate further forward or at right wing-back.

However, if Sky Germany’s latest update is to be believed, the Frankfurt star is now on the verge of joining Juventus.

The report claims that the Serbian international is ‘one step away’ from completing a €15m (£12.7m) move to the Bianconeri.

Spurs Web Opinion

I suspect Tottenham might have pursued Kostic over Perisic if Sessegnon had not impressed in the manner he did in the final few months of the campaign. The club will be hoping that the 21-year-old develops into a top wing-back over the coming seasons and is ready to take over the mantle from Perisic a year or two down the line.
