TEAMtalk have named Tottenham among the list of Premier League clubs tracking Blackburn Rovers starlet, Adam Wharton.

Wharton broke into Blackburn’s senior side last season and the teenager has established himself as a mainstay in the Latics midfield this season, having played all 90 minutes in the last six Championship matches (Transfermarkt).

The versatile midfielder, who has operated as a six as well as an eight for Jon Dahl Tomasson’s men, has allegedly caught the eye of several top-flight sides, including Spurs.

The race is heating up for Adam Wharton

TEAMtalk claim that the Lilywhites, along with Chelsea and Arsenal have been on Wharton’s trail for many months and they were joined the race for his signature by Newcastle, Brighton and Wolves during the summer transfer window.

The publication adds that Manchester United are now the latest team to express interest in the 19-year-old, with the Red Devils, thought to have watched the youngster closely over the last few weeks.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham have a relationship with Blackburn Rovers on the back of their acquisition of Ashley Phillips in the summer. Perhaps, the Spurs hierarchy will look to use that to their advantage to beat out other suitors to Wharton’s signature.
