Report: Spurs close head coach interview process with 47-year-old set to be appointed

Tottenham Hotspur have ended their interview process as part of their recruitment of a new head coach, according to The Telegraph.

The report claims that Nuno Espirito Santo has held further talks with Tottenham this week and has reached an agreement in principle to take over at the club who finished seventh in the Premier League last season.

It is said that Spurs are set to appoint the 47-year-old after a ten week search which has seen the likes of Mauricio Pochettino, Erik ten Hag, Graham Potter, Roberto Martinez, Antonio Conte, Paulo Fonseca, Gennaro Gattuso and Julen Lopetegui all linked with the vacancy.

Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici have decided to proceed with their interest in Nuno, despite potential candidates becoming available following their involvement with the respective countries at Euro 2020.

The appointment of Nuno will not be met with widespread approval from the North London faithful in what is an anticlimax considering some of the established names we have been linked with in recent weeks.
