Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is said to be confident of bringing Mauricio Pochettino back to the club, according to The Sun.
The report claims that Pochettino is ready to return to Tottenham after holding talks with his old club this week.
It is suggested that Pochettino’s return would help improve the club’s chances of keeping Harry Kane at the club this summer with Levy said to have a battle on his hands.
The Spurs chairman is prepared to pay a substantial amount of money to persuade Paris Saint-Germain to release him from his contract which is set to run until the summer of 2022 since there is no other clear candidate to replace Jose Mourinho, who was dismissed last month.
Pochettino does not have a good relationship with PSG’s sporting director Leonardo and is unhappy that the Brazilian is prepared to sell star striker Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid while being unimpressed with the calibre of replacement suggested to replace the French forward.
The 49-year-old was reportedly left devastated in November 2019 when Levy decided to part company following a poor start to the season.
