Report: Spurs ‘closely monitoring’ ex-Liverpool 19-year-old after impressive displays

Tottenham Hotspur are always on the lookout for the next young up-and-comer, with the club signing the likes of Ryan Sessegnon and Jack Clarke last summer.

It appears that the Lilywhites are now looking slightly further afield for their next potential teenage target, as they are keeping tabs on Rafael Camacho from Sporting Lisbon (Football Insider).

Spurs are said to be just one of a number of Premier League clubs interested in the promising youngster, a player who only left Liverpool’s ranks last summer.

The 19-year-old is said to have snubbed a new five-year contract from the Reds, leaving for Sporting in a deal worth £7m (Football Insider).

There are apparent indications that the player may be interested in a quick return to England, and Spurs are monitoring his situation closely.

Despite being just 19, Camacho has played 19 games for Sporting this season, with the attacker scoring one and setting up another (Transfer Markt).

Spurs Web Opinion:

If Tottenham can get him on a good price, then signing up a promising teenager is always a good bit of business. However, I can’t help but feel that Sporting will demand a big fee for the youngster if they paid £7m for him just last year.
