Report: Spurs ‘closing in’ on centre-back signing from Premier League club

According to GhanaSoccerNet, Manchester City defender Kwaku Oduroh is ‘closing in’ on a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Oduroh, a right-back who is also capable of playing as a holding midfielder, has progressed through the age groups at City all the way from the Under-9 level.

The youngster captained City’s Under-18 side to the U18 Premier League title last season and he has featured 12 times for their Under-23s this campaign (Transfermarkt).

Lilywhite Rose confirmed last week that Oduroh was having a trial at Spurs and we got evidence of that on Monday, with the youngster starting for Tottenham’s Under-23s against Leeds, with the defender playing all 90 minutes as the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

If GhanaSoccerNet’s latest update is to be believed, it seems like Spurs have been sufficiently impressed with Oduroh and are set to push ahead with his signing.

The report reveals that the Ghanaian, who has one year left on his contract at City, is likely to seal his move to North London this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

The fact that Oduroh captained City’s Under-18s is a huge endorsement of his quality, given the kind of talent that City have in their academy set up. So, this could turn out to be a smart acquisition for Spurs if they manage to pull it off.
