Report: Spurs closing in on deal for Premier League right-back

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly making considerable progress in their effort to land Norwich City defender Max Aarons.

A report by Football Insider reveals that Spurs have made Aarons one of their top targets this month in order to solve their issues at right-back.

Although Serge Aurier has witnessed a dramatic upturn in form since Jose Mourinho has taken over, it has been reported that Kyle Walker-Peters is close to the exit (The Sun).

The Lilywhites are said to be keen on landing Aarons and Football Insider reports that the club is confident of securing the services the 20-year-old.

The pacey right back, who was one of Norwich’s stand out performers in their 2-1 defeat to Spurs on Wednesday night, has reportedly indicated that he is keen on joining Tottenham.

However, it is revealed that the Canaries are unlikely to let Aarons go this month and so a deal is more likely to be struck in the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Aurier has come on leaps and bounds since Mourinho took over a couple a months ago and the Ivorian’s form is perhaps what convinced the Spurs boss that a right back wasn’t a priority this window. I would be ecstatic if we buy Aarons in the summer to compete with Aurier as it is clear that the youngster is destined for a career right at the top.
