Report: Spurs competing with AC Milan for 21-year-old striker

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan are set to compete for the signature of Fiorentina striker, Dusan Vlahovic in the summer transfer window.

Vlahovic has established himself as the first-choice number nine for Fiorentina this season and has notched up 12 goals in the Serie A so far.

La Repubblica (via Sport Witness) revealed earlier this month that Spurs had identified the Serbian as an alternative to Carlos Vinicius, who the North Londoners have the option to sign permanently at the end of the season.

TEAMtalk now claim that Spurs are leaning towards not taking up the option to sign the Brazilian and are likely to be in the market for a centre-forward in the summer, with Harry Kane’s future also being in doubt.

Tottenham are said to have been impressed by Vlahovic’s displays and have identified him as a potential alternative.

However, it is said that a deal for the 21-year-old would be far from easy to pull off as Milan are also keen on him while West Ham and Borussia Dortmund have previously signalled their interest.

Additionally, the report suggests that Fiorentina are demanding a fee of around €50m (£43m) for the striker’s services.

Spurs Web Opinion

I cannot see us activating the £36m option to sign Vinicius permanently in the summer. The only we we sign the Brazilian is if Levy is able to negotiate a lower fee with Benfica and it remains to be seen if that would be possible. So I do expect us to be in the market for a number nine in the summer.
