Report: Spurs ‘confident’ about agreeing new Harry Kane contract despite frustrations

90 min have reported that Bayern Munich remain interested in a summer deal for Harry Kane, with the striker said to be ‘hugely frustrated’ at Tottenham’s recent dip in form.

Reports linking Kane with a move to Bayern Munich have cooled over recent weeks, with Sport BILD (via Sport Witness) claiming on January 4 that ‘doubts are growing’ internally at the Bundesliga club over whether a move for the Tottenham man would be possible.

However, journalist Christian Falk told Give Me Sport this week that the German club remain interested in Kane and they were impressed with the striker’s performance in the North London derby on Sunday.

90 min have also backed up Falk’s claim, stating that Julian Nagelsmann’s side have not given up hope of signing the England captain.

The publication states that although Bayern are aware that luring Kane to the Allianz Stadium could be difficult, the striker’s camp have not ruled out a move abroad next summer.

It is asserted that the Bundesliga giants value Kane in the same ballpark as Robert Lewandowski, who was sold to Barcelona last summer for a total package of €50m (£43.9m).

However, 90 min add that talks are ongoing between Tottenham and the 29-year-old’s camp regarding a new contract and that the Lilywhites are ‘confident’ of reaching an agreement despite the striker’s frustrations at the team’s recent form.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not think Kane will be in any hurry to sign a new deal as he would want to wait and see if the results pick up and what happens regarding Conte’s future. However, I do not think there is any chance that the striker will move to Bayern next summer, particularly for as little as £40m-£50m.
