According to a report from Todo Fichajes, Tottenham Hotspur are currently leading the race to sign Real Madrid defender Eder Militao in the summer.
Militao has failed to hit the expected heights at Madrid since his big-money move from Porto, with the defender spending the majority of the season on the fringes of Zinedine Zidane’s squad.
Multiple sources during the January transfer window revealed that Spurs were interested in snapping up the Brazilian.
While AS reported that Jose Mourinho is a fan of the centre-back and wants to bring him to Spurs, Fabrizio Romano claimed that the North London club made a genuine attempt to sign the 23-year-old on loan but Madrid pulled the plug on the deal.
Todo Fichajes have now backed Spurs to return for Militao’s services in the summer, with Jose Mourinho said to be prioritising the Real Madrid man’s signature as he seeks to bolster his backline.
Liverpool are also said to be interested in the defender but Tottenham are reportedly confident of beating the Reds to his signature.
The report suggests that Madrid will demand around €30m (£25.9m) for the centre-back’s signature.

Central defence is clearly the priority position for Spurs to address in the summer and I suspect Mourinho might want to bring in two new centre-backs in the summer. I would not surprised if both Alderweireld and Sanchez were sold as Jose appears to rate Dier.
