Report: Spurs confident of seventh signing of the transfer window

Tottenham Hotspur are rumoured to be confident of completing a deal for Joe Rodon before Friday’s EFL deadline, according to Football Insider.

The North Londoners are said to have been looking to add a central defender to their squad during the summer transfer window but were unable to secure a deal for Milan Skirinar of Inter Milan (The Guardian).

The report claims that Spurs had a bid knocked back by Swansea City on Monday of last week but have continued to have held talks over the past week and made headway with the negotiations.

The Welsh club are said to be holding out for in excess of £15million to part company with Rodon who has two years left to run on his contract at the Liberty Stadium.

Spurs have tabled different structures of an offer to the Swans including a pure cash amount, a player plus cash offer along with a potential loan back which would see Rodon remain with the Championship outfit in the interim.

London rivals West Ham United are also reported to be keen on the Welsh international but Spurs are considered frontrunners for his signature.
