Report: Spurs confident they will sign £15m defender this summer – Not Andersen

The Sun have reported that Tottenham are confident that they will be able to seal a transfer for £15m-rated Bologna defender, Takehiro Tomiyasu this summer.

The report claims that despite the fact that Tottenham have no permanent manager in place for the new season, they are still lining up a deal for the Japanese star.

Not only that, but the 22-year-old is desperate to join the Premier League and Spurs are confident in their ability to grant him that wish. Tomiyasu’s wages and transfer fee will apparently not be a problem for the North London club.

The Sun claim that the deal should happen in the near future, although he was originally planning on revealing a manager before any new signings.

While Tomiyasu can play at right-back, it is said that Spurs want to sign him as a central defender, which was somewhat of a problem position for them last season.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Not exactly the big name that some Spurs fans would have been hoping for. I can’t say I know too much about the Japanese defender, but he certainly doesn’t arrive with limitless pedigree and experience. More signings are needed, I would say.
