Report: Spurs considered bringing 20-year-old back to the club in January

According to a report from The Athletic, Tottenham Hotspur considered recalling Oliver Skipp to the club during the January transfer window but eventually decided against it.

Skipp has been one of Norwich’s best players so far this season and his consistent performances in the middle of the park have arguably been a key reason why Daniel Farke’s side sit comfortably at the top of the Championship table.

The Athletic claim that Tottenham have been extremely impressed by what they have seen from the midfielder during his time at Carrow Road so far, so much so that the club’s hierarchy seriously considered recalling the 20-year-old in January.

The report reveals that Skipp is expected to play a key part in the Spurs first-team next season when he returns from his loan spell with the Canaries.

It is also said that there are big hopes regarding Harvey White, who has made a solid start to his loan spell at Portsmouth.

The report suggests that White could also be a part of the first-team squad for the North Londoners next season.

The Athletic also reveals that Tottenham are yet to make a decision on Troy Parrott’s future and the striker could be loaned out again next season.

Spurs Web Opinion

Mourinho has already stated that he wants Dane Scarlett to be part of the first-team squad next season. That could potentially push Parrott further down the pecking order. Given his struggles on loan this season, I would be surprised if the Irish striker is part of the first-team squad at Spurs next campaign.
