Report: Spurs considering £80m double transfer raid on Premier League club

According to a report by The Express, Tottenham could potentially make a move for Norwich City pair Max Aarons and Ben Godfrey in the summer.

It has been reported over the past few weeks that Aarons is on Spurs’ radar as they look to bring in a right-back ahead of next season with the teenager said to cost around £30million. (Football Insider).

The Express claim that Spurs have watched his team-mate, Godfrey on several occasions this season

Godfrey, who has been deployed at both centre back and as a defensive midfielder by manager Daniel Farke has been one of the Canaries standout performers this campaign.

The report suggests that the 22-year-old is attracting interest from Spurs’ North London rivals Arsenal along with Lyon and Borussia Dortmund.

Norwich are reportedly demanding £50million for the centre back, which could bring a combined deal for Aarons and Godfrey to around £80million.

Tottenham are currently set to be a central defender short when Jan Vertonghen’s contract expires this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

While the Aarons link makes total sense, I am not so sure about the Godfrey one as I believe there are better options out there if we are looking for a centre back. I believe that the club could be considering the Norwich star as a potential replacement for Eric Dier given his versatility.
